so for Vogue Italia's December 2009 issue, they decided to do a spinoff on the popular image hosting service TwitPic, and Steven Meisel had the models photograph themselves in clothes sent by him. the name of the editorial was (fittingly) called meisel:pic. it came to mind today after i had used twitpic to send all the photographs after the evacuation of the Conde Nast Building. personally, i love the editorial. it is so unique, and probably the first time an editorial actually had someone other than the photographer take the picture. and its very good to see high fashion magazines such as Vogue Italia accepting this style of photography. its fast,free, and can outsource to millions of people. here are some images.
