givenchy haute couture f/w 2010

Okay, so I really don't get all the hype with the Givenchy collection, but being that this industry is filled with a lot of dumb airhead girls that eventually learn the value of hard work through interning, I must agree with the airheads, the collection does look...."shiny" LOL.

I actually love this collection. I feel like Ricardo is normally known for intricate prints on his RTW's, but for the coutoure, it's like he took his prints and cut a bunch of the negative space out of them. They're very structural and artistic. (I hate to point this out but some of these are a little reminiscent of the crown moldings on the wall their in front of. lol.)

The only thing I don't like is how the 1st dress is reminiscent of the purple dress from the Spring Coutoure collection that Zoe Saldana wore to the Oscars. The cascading color scheme was done. & the material on the purple dress (or as Andre Leon Talley called it, wilted purple lettuce) seemed more "fall" than this one to me.
That's all.
