REVIEW : ALEXANDER MCQUEEN S/S 2012

Just from looking at the images from the McQueen runway show,  I noticed that something was very "fishy" about the collection. There was that McQueen touch of the embroidery/jewelry that covers the face almost as a mask,  but this time it felt more organic.  The shapes were rough, almost nasty ulcers that on some models created a pretty pattern, but on others a nasty facial ulcer-like distortion; and I loved it. ASIDE from that, it was a great collection, a nice abstract view of underwater life, with coral, reef, wet dirty sand, and seashell textures, mixed with laser cut patterns and detailing. You can clearly tell that Sarah Burton is getting more comfortable at the house, and I can see a complete removal of the suit-skirt look shes done potentially 2-3 collections down the road.
