vogue march 2010

So, one of the many issues my mother got me was the US Vogue March issue. Yes it featured bloggers, but not as how I expected it. I thought it would go more in the direction of the editorial that featured the bands with Sasha Pivovarova. Guess not. Anyway lets get onto the issue.

SOOOOOO MANY ADS! LIKE ALL OVER THE PLACE!

What is this new font thats showing up all over? Alberto, Danko, Raul, Martin, somebody can I get a statement?

Love the great use of the green text in the upper right corner. Thankfully they used a light font, or else the green would have just came off tacky. Not sure if I would have the woman in the photograph in that position, its almost as if she's leaning on the text.

This layout is amazing. The relationship between the photograph in the top half and the text in the bottom half completely balance eachother out. The Valentino dress looks amazing, and the huge A fits right in with the overall look of the page.
The way they've been experimenting with text in editorials is really cool. I like how on the left page I can equally focus on the text just as much as the model in the photograph. I see a lot of looonggggggggggg column grids in the pages.

LOVE THE LAYOUTTTTT. IN FUCKING LOVE WITH THIS PAGE LAYOUT. Similar to the Teen Vogue Handbook cover.

Don't like this editorial only because of RAQUELS HAIR!!! EVERYTHING ELSE IS AMAZING EXCEPT FOR THE HAIR! LMAOO

Love the choice of photograph, not because its striking and red like the line in the upper left corner, but the pose of the model actually makes your eye stray AWAY from the gutter, which is good, because who wants to rip open the magazine to catch the text in the corner? LOL
