MARC JACOBS S/S 2014

Marc Jacobs this season was a shocking surprise. Assuming he wanted to make a statement, everything from the set tot he clothing to the embellishments were as dark as can be.  Personally I received a very victorian vibe from the collection, lets say if all those dresses from back in the day were deflated and reworked for now. Shape wise, everything from sporty silhouettes to 40's shapes opting out skirts for shorts created a compacted, yet creative and cohesive idea. Even the palm tree leaf graphic, which can make you think of more recent things like Miami nightlife or Grand Theft Auto, from afar can look like paisley. Overall it was a unique collection to me, definitely not like anything I've seen before. Aside from my favorite looks above which are the most imaginable to a consumer, i wonder how the rest of the collection will do in six months.
