Review: After a meeting with a friend, I sprinted to Oscar to make it just in time for the start of the show. It came off VERY floral to me, with floral prints, colors of pink and green, oversized puffy sleeves, and dramatic gowns. From the start of the show, every print had a very womanly botanical aspect to it. Kudos to the belts, which came in all shapes, colors and sizes, and complimented the collection. The finale dress, worn by Karlie Kloss, had a huge oversized pink bolero jacket that will definitely show up in magazines months to come.

Review: Althea Harper S/S 2011 was a very enjoyable presentation. In the red bull space, I filled my brain with Red Bull energy drink, as the models stood in the collection. It was a very simple, no fuss collection,  full of pants, dresses, and relaxed blazers for the girl on the go. It evoked a very cruise-y feel, as if the models just came off of the most glamorous cruise wearing the clothes with ease, with the perfect hair and makeup to match. The details were simple prints and draping, which allowed the focus to be on the looks as a whole. After the show, I went to Greenhouse, where we viewed one of her couture dresses. Overall, the collection and presentation was very enjoyable, and will definitely be a great alternative to all those who are not looking forward to show boobs, bras, and panties with all the sheer.

Review: I did not like Temperly. The collection just was too much of a personal style collection, with skirts and bags and hats and bangles and chokers and hoodies and all types of pieces. You really have to pick out what you like here, its not much of a "take the whole outfit" concept. The inspirations weren't clear, and the setup was a bit confusing, with 3 different sections, two being Temperly London and the third being the ALICE by Temperly diffusion line. Overall it was a so-so collection, just wish there was more cohesiveness.

Review: Bibhu Mohapatra was a really versatile collection. There was a mod theme going on with some of the pieces, with long haired models, cute dresses, and wide circular glasses. Some other pieces evoked a oceanic feel, with tapioca like dresses with detailing  to evoke sand on a beach. Overall it was a cute little collection, another alternative to the white sheer craziness on the runways.

Review: The Camilla Staerk presentation was a bit awkward. Models stood still for approximately 2 hours making no movement or sound in front of blinding hot lights and loud music. The next day a friend told me that two of the models fainted, and even though I wasn't there for that, I must say that it should have been a presentation, not a Survivor challenge. Anyway the clothes were decent. If your a big fan of Staerk, you'll most likely wear her pieces head to toe.  However most pieces were just "too simple" and left much to be desired. Some of my favorite pieces were the crocodile skin black bathing suit and the black jumpsuit in the very back.

Review: So last year I was invited to Betsey Johnson, and because of conflicting schedules, I was unable to attend. I went this season and now I highly regret that decision. The show was unbelievable. Inspired by bike riding and New York, Betsey really knows not only how to put on a show, but really have the theme evoke from the clothing. There were various sections, from a cutesy New York girl that clashes with punk, to a navy section with great blue and white jackets, to a short vaudeville section with big hair and big corsets, to tons of tulle and showpieces. One of the models skateboarded down the runway, and for the finale, Betsey rode her bike down the runway and the models wore body-con yellow "Le Tour De Betsey" dresses as they waved the checkered flag down the runway. Overall its a great collection that showed various inspirations which brings me back to seeing one of her pieces in a Vogue Paris spread, and now I know why. Only she can create such variety that can appeal to multiple markets.

Review: Sometimes its easy to categorize Rad Hourani as the same thing every season.  While last season it was more about the bags and shoes, this season, the focus was on the glasses and jackets. The collection had a particularly vampire feel, similar to the vampires in the movie Daybreakers, with the models having pale looking makeup, long straight hair and heavy jackets with white sleeves. The glasses almost looking like humongous 3D goggles you wear at a 3D attraction at a theme park, also contributed to the vampire idea of trying to avoid light. Overall, Rad is always "Rad" and while I don't look forward to the shoes, I always love their jackets and bags.

Review: Reem Acra was supposedly inspired by a modern day princess, and the inspiration was spot on. Cute day dresses and tons of sparkle were added to each piece, and the models rocked cool 70's hair. The belts were another cool element of the collection, and added a modern touch. My favorite piece by far, is the gold lame cap sleeve dress (the left of the last picture) with the belt. Definitely can  be in the running for a editorial overhaul.

Review: The men that walked down the Robert Geller runway were reminiscent of ringleaders at a circus. Wrap belts, hats, sleek long coats all played a role in the collection. One of the models even had a sharp, curvy mustache to add to the feeling.

Review: ADAM really made me feel like I was witnessing a mother+daughter moment. The collection showed variety, between the cutesy feminine outfits of blouses and once again the milkmaid-like sheer fabrics, clashing with the  blazers, shoes, heavy sweaters and more structured dresses. One of the biggest standout pieces is the red leather dress in the 1st pic. Awesome.

Review: I really had no opinion of Tim Hamilton, it was a menswear-y collection, LOL. The clothes were many pieces that I would wear, but they didn't really follow much of a story or inspiration, and if they did, it wasn't expressed strongly enough. Models were standing in single file lines completely still, and while I thought the collection was okay, I tend to go for more inspired pieces, which left much to be desired.

Review:  First thing that came to mind the second the 1st look hit the runway was nomadic/ animalistic cavewoman that finally gave a shit about how they looked and dressed, so they decided to sew up their draped cloth and make it fashionable. The whole collection was full of shades of grey, and the detailing was great with the stitching vs. draping.

Review: BCBG Max Azria was very serene. The show started out with flowy white dresses and soft cream colors as the models floated down the runway. It gave me the feeling of milkmaids on a countryside with the VERY light layering, some pieces only having 1 layer of semi-sheer fabric flowing in the background. In the middle of the collection, nice orange reds clashed with the cremes for a colorblock effect, and green-yellow dresses started to end the show.

Review: Concept Korea was a real breath of fresh air. Divided into three sections, the first collection by Kwak Hyun Joon was a VERY sporty fun collection. Prints included cute comic book like stories on jackets and dresses. Hints of futurism were found in the hoodies and the minor details. Definitely should be a favorite of Teen Vogue readers. The next collection designed by Ju Young Lee was VERY dark. Tons of pleats on the man skirts and shirts, grommets and other drops of dark glamour. It was a menswear collection, so it was mainly shirts and skirts, but he definitely placed a lot of details that will attract anyones eye. I definitely would wear some of the shirts that had a militaristic feel without being generic. The last collection designed by Lee Jean Youn was a very traditional collection, infused with futurism and tradition. The collection developed from dark elements to light and lovely youthful white wedding gowns.

JEN KAO S/S 2011

Review: Jen Kao was a total mix of inspirations. From beaches, to seashells, to tribal, Jen Kao's spring collection was a collection of all things earthy. Color pallets included dusty greens, light creams, browns, and pops of blue prints. The styling was very 90's meets 80's and the models were barefoot walking on sand! Each model almost looked like they just walked through a million mile desert, but overall, the collection showed a nice variety of pieces from lacey/ crochet tops, and soft dresses.
