4 KEY BOOT STYLES FOR FALL

Fall is coming, and very soon we'll be trekking through inches upon inches of snow, so its about that time to invest in a new fall boot. This season I PROMISED myself I'll buy heavily into Fall/Winter( which I never do, and end up wearing my summer shit in the wintertime, which is not healthy) and my first product category to kill is boots. Personally, I can't even deal with the extra designer details, I (and I'm sure you will too) need a boot that will prevent me from busting my ass down Soho.

THE BEST BOMBER JACKETS FROM ASOS.COM

So, my obsession with bomber jackets started when at the beginning of the summer, I told myself I'd switch my summer style from last season wearing tank tops every day to short sleeve shirts and bomber jackets. My first one was from ASOS, a new fashion  discovery i learned about during one of my old jobs. I soon found out that not only was it a more broad (in a good way ) version of Urban Outfitters, but they're own brand they sell on the website has some really amazing pieces. What I love about the bomber jacket is it can be dressed up or dressed down, and in recent years it's definitely broadened out the basic varsity jacket confines. Since I definitely feel ASOS men carries THE LARGEST selection of bombers I've seen on a single website, below are my picks for the best they have to offer ( and a pic of me wearing mine at Le Bain in NYC). Be sure to sign up for their emails, because when you get that ASOS coupon code, it DEFINITELY chops off that little extra that makes you turn a maybe into a hell yes.

MADAMOISELLE C : THE MAKING OF CR FASHION BOOK

SO..... as we all know ( or I only hope you know) Carine Roitfeld, the former Editor in Chief at Vogue Paris to embark on the creation of her own magazine. She then debuted the title as CR Fashion Book. Carine Roitfeld's "Book", in addition to fashion runway shows, designer interviews, and the wonderful world she creates through images, she also does a lot of industry insight with designers and editors, such as behind the scenes visuals from otherworldly couture shows us Americans can only dream of conceptualizing. However, before all this I specifically remember the media drama when she left French Vogue, and the anticipation leading up to announcing she was starting her own magazine, and the painkilling suspense leading up to its release. So while we were desperately waiting, she documented the entire time and process of starting her own business with this new documentary, Madamoiselle C. I WILL be watching this and I'm already DYING for it to come out, but until then, you can watch the trailer below, along with a preview of the third issue. I wonder if she was thinking about CR Fashion Book a few years ago when I took this picture with her.

LANVIN X H&M

So, as I stated in the previous post, I work at H&M. The Lanvin collection debuted at our store down the block, and allegedly it was SOLD OUT AT 10AM. THEY OPEND THE STORE AT 7. Crazy. Seeing some of the pieces up close, I really liked it. You can tell its not ordinary H&M dresses and accessories and there's added sophistication mixed with fun. Heres some photos from the runway show they held.

I've seen the yellow dress in person and it looks very structured and rich. The whole collection looks great alltogether, and definitely worth the buy, if you can find anymore LMAO.  Better head to eBay.

ANNOUCEMENT FROM THE FAINDENT

Hey guys, I know I've been in and out of  posting, really busy with alot, lets share.

- So I'm finally moving out of my parents house. This was a BIG decison that took the whole MONTH of November for me to arrange and finalize. I'm in the process now of packing up my stuff and moving. It's in a decent location, closer to the city, so I'm very pumped for that.

- I'm ALSO in the process of transferring schools. YEP, no more FIT. It was great while I was there,  but this year interning and experiencing fashion 1 on 1, I feel a smaller school in manhattan would be more suitable.

- Ever since I left GQ, I've been contemplating on my next move. I've been doing interviews with some people with some internship offers, as well as  other offers that mix interning and actual assistant work. HELLL YEAHHHHHHH! By the end of December, around the 1 year anniversary of the blog, I'll get back to you guys on whats next.

- I WORK AT H&M !!!!!!!! In SOHO next to Dean and Deluca. So if you ever wanna stop by, ask for Warren and I'll help you pick out some cute stuff. :D

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN S/S 2011

Alexander McQueen S/S 2011 was more of a retrospective of his past work. Under a "nature" theme, infused with butterflies and leaves on shoes, pants and dresses,  the McQueen story continued on. Sarah Burton continued on the print mania of the past two seasons with a print that included flowers, fruit, and another mixture of items. The basket weaved hair translated into 2 pieces , a gown with a basket weave corset and a stiff as nails dress.  Even though it was a GREAT collection, and the pieces evoked great details as a McQueen collection should, its still missing the McQueen factor. Well maybe not the McQueen factor, but just the innovation factor. Every cut, piece, style, and drape was predictable, something that should NEVER be in a McQueen collection. She also used certain styles from previous seasons, another McQueen NONO. Some people may think critics and myself are being hard on her, but in actuality its simply just a lack of design. You see innovation on a John Galliano runway, or a Rodarte runway. Fresh ideas, new ways to wear things, etc. McQueen had the same attitude, and Sarah should too. It's not about copying McQueens style, but about thinking outside the box beyond pants and tops and skirts and dresses and gowns. Hopefully she can get her act together, and drop the commercial bullshit for  next season. But it was a good collection. :D LOL. Look at the shoes!

I MET PATRICK D!

TODAY WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY AS THE 2ND COOLEST MOMENT IN MY LIFE (THE 1ST BEING THAT I GOT THE VOGUE INTERNSHIP) I MET THE WORLD RENOWNED SUPERSTAR BEYOND AMAZING FASHION PHOTOGRAPHER PATRICK DEMARCHELIER!
I was walking out of Oscar De La Renta's  S/S 2011 show, and I noticed Patrick on the street corner walking home from the show. He dresses really casual, and when I noticed it was him, I absolutely died inside. It was weird because a LOT of people didn't realize it was him which had me surprised. My goal was to grow the cajones to run over and say hi. So I did. When he got to the corner of E 63rd and Park, I ran over and said "Hey Patrick, my names Warren, I LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR WOKR!" he said thank you and we started walking. I asked him if he enjoyed the show and he said yes, and noted a lot of color. Then he asked me something I would have never dreamed of. HE ASKED ME WHAT I DID! I WAS IN SHOCK THAT SOMEONE OF HIS PROWESS ACTUALLY WANTED TO KNOW! I told him I'm a writer and I'm starting to explore styling. Then we walked and chatted TWO WHOLE BLOCKS almost to fifth avenue. I tried to write my name and number in case he needed any help or assistance but my hands were trembling so much in shock that i just scribbled crap. It was just so amazing to have a 1 on 1 casual encounter with such a standout name in the industry. It was just me and him walking down the street, nobody else, and he was so kind and friendly. He also stopped at a restaurant, I guess scoping it out as a possible location to shoot. I just cant believe it. I will never forget my walk with Patrick Demarchelier. Hopefully he'll remember me in the future!
