Roxy/DC event.

The event was really cool. BUT FIRST. Lets start off with the clothes.  There were a lot of colorful graphic surfer prints on the usual hoodies, shorts, etc. They do also have some VERY new pieces  that we aren't allowed to  show you, but it takes the brand to a whole new level with dresses, tanks and more stylish pieces that go beyond the skatepark or the beach. They had some really nice shoes for men, and a huge array of tanks , dresses and nice summery pieces that can fit in the wardrobe of a New Yorker.

Then they had some cool DIY events, where you can make your own bag, and your own skatedeck. So I made my own bag, and 2 skatedecks, one for a twitter friend. FOLLOW HIM!

They also had a contest to win a awesome bookbag by DC, so here I am competing....

and heres my prize!

Overall, I REALLY liked what they had to offer, it seems that they are starting to move over to more of what the Manhattan customer wants, with the tank tops and more versatile pieces, while still having their core pieces that makes DC and Roxy what they are. I know I will definitely be stopping by to pick up a few jackets and shoes later this year.

- Today there was a editors panel featuring Amy O' Dell from The Cut, Seventeen, and many other magazines. They discussed about how online and media is growing and affecting the industry. Some of the topics were TV, and how while some magazines like the partnership between Seventeen and ANTM are positive and do great for the magazine, others like STYLISTA and Elle don't do so well, and shows like The City in efforts to make people forget about stylista just makes it worse. So true. Allegedly, editors in the offices at Elle aren't very fond of the show being there.
