here, there, EVERYWHERE

1.
- Pixie Lott wore this very fun and flirty black Paula Ke dress to a GQ party in London. Very quirky eyeshadow choice here.

2.
- Dolce & Gabbana had a great event at FNO NYC this year with their "Passion Duo's" , in which pairs of celebrities sang classic tunes, in adition to customized t-shirts and makeup. I GOT A PERSONAL INVITE IN MY EMAIL ARGHHHHHH I WAS AT SCHOOL THAT DAY SO I JUST WENT STRAIGHT HOME! I WILL BE THERE NEXT YEAR D&G PR!

3.
CONGRATS to A by Andrea Barna, now under Bijoux Drive International, a worldwide costume jewlery and accessories house. To celebrate, everything on their online store is 40 percent off so GO CRAZY!

ADDICTION : D&G F/W 2011

This is by far one of the most interesting collections I've seen in a long time. Not only is it INFUSED with a dizzying assortment of colors from the color spectrum, but the manipulation of the alphabet into hundreds of prints and styles, used on the tops, sweaters, leggings, dresses, mixed with multiple fabrics and textures make such a interesting composition, almost like the stuff I did when I was a graphics major.

The whole Sprouse effect is totally visible here with the silhouettes, single color outfits, sunglasses, and the grunging up of the outfits using blazers and skirts. This will DEFINITELY be editorial crack in the coming months, and here's some of my favorite looks.

"spring" needs to "fall" back.

So as we continue the Fall coverage and end the Spring coverage, more fall menswear shows have been  commencing, and I have plucked and edited the best of the best.

Prada F/W 2010. Love this jacket, especially the shape, with the scrunched sleeves and collar (top), and the pockets on the jacket are SICK(bottom).

D&G F/W 2010. I didn't like the styling, WAYYYYYYYYYYY too cluttered. However, I really want the pants and thats it. The other pieces work too, just separately, not styled like this.

D2Squared F/W 2010. I  want EVERYTHING to do with the look on the left (minus the hat), and the same applies to the right (minus the shoes, boots are better).

Overall, I think most of the shows provided a "doom and gloom" factor,  not a lot of colors, but very great details. Can't wait for Monday to kick off S/S 2010 Haute Couture coverage!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DDR / D&G S/S 2010

No I'm not talking about the popular dance game Dance Dance Revolution for which at one point and time in my life I had the personal dance mat for my PS2. I'm talking about DENIM DONE RIGHT, a new feature I'm starting. Denim is one of those fabrics that is VERY hard to pull off as high end / luxurious.
'
The denim skirt on the right, is the perfect wash, and  the mini ruffle detailing adds a detail to denim that makes that piece unique. As a dress, the gown on the right is interesting,  and the lower half gives the upper half of the gown a very relaxed look, without you thinking " What in the hell is denim doing there?"

The sky blue wash of the top on the left is very rare in denim,  and it creates this sense of luxury. The jeans on the right look really nice rolled up, and paired with the boots make the look of the jeans correct and not tacky. Hopefully brands like Rock & Republic, True Religion, and other denim brands will take into consideration denim transformed into pieces like these.

d&g online store

dd
love this. i think that business wise, it was a smart move on d&g's part. many designers don't give their lower lines online stores, which i think would be a total benefit, being that the lower lines are usually more affordable and accessible by the public. the clothes are great, and there's tons of things on the site, ranging from  $27 -$440 all with the click of a mouse. perfect for those who aren't big fans of Old Navy, but aren't willing to dish out the dollars for Dolce & Gabanna.

and if you like D&G you should also try
Emporio Armani  ($63- up)
Saks Fifth Avenue -  Marc by Marc Jacobs Accessories ($38 - up)

bye.
