I MET PATRICK D!

TODAY WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY AS THE 2ND COOLEST MOMENT IN MY LIFE (THE 1ST BEING THAT I GOT THE VOGUE INTERNSHIP) I MET THE WORLD RENOWNED SUPERSTAR BEYOND AMAZING FASHION PHOTOGRAPHER PATRICK DEMARCHELIER!
I was walking out of Oscar De La Renta's  S/S 2011 show, and I noticed Patrick on the street corner walking home from the show. He dresses really casual, and when I noticed it was him, I absolutely died inside. It was weird because a LOT of people didn't realize it was him which had me surprised. My goal was to grow the cajones to run over and say hi. So I did. When he got to the corner of E 63rd and Park, I ran over and said "Hey Patrick, my names Warren, I LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR WOKR!" he said thank you and we started walking. I asked him if he enjoyed the show and he said yes, and noted a lot of color. Then he asked me something I would have never dreamed of. HE ASKED ME WHAT I DID! I WAS IN SHOCK THAT SOMEONE OF HIS PROWESS ACTUALLY WANTED TO KNOW! I told him I'm a writer and I'm starting to explore styling. Then we walked and chatted TWO WHOLE BLOCKS almost to fifth avenue. I tried to write my name and number in case he needed any help or assistance but my hands were trembling so much in shock that i just scribbled crap. It was just so amazing to have a 1 on 1 casual encounter with such a standout name in the industry. It was just me and him walking down the street, nobody else, and he was so kind and friendly. He also stopped at a restaurant, I guess scoping it out as a possible location to shoot. I just cant believe it. I will never forget my walk with Patrick Demarchelier. Hopefully he'll remember me in the future!

vogue paris march 2010. very experimental.

There's so many different things they tried out in this issue. EXAMPLE 1# Patrick Delmarchier. WTF?!?!?! They rarely use him, he's more of a US Vogue photographer. I love how they shot Anja in the same pose with and without the cape, very clever. Reminds me of a "Spot the differences" game in the back pages of a gossip magazine.

Then, for the opening page of one of the editorials, they used a tombstone font! VERY surprised Carine would allow the art department to get really cheesy with it, but its actually not that bad. She's just letting the Art Deparment go wild! Adding thick stroke borders around the photographs and everything!

How do you guys feel about this? In the Vogue March issue, one of the editorials had a huge white border around the images of one of the editorials, and experimented with many fonts. Does it affect the way you read the magazine?

allure editorial. / january 2010 in fashion magazines

i am in LOVE with this editorial from Allure Magazine's January 2010 issue. Patrick Demarchelier is the photographer and the images are beautiful. totally display the clothes in a great way.

I love the DKNY top with the chunky jewlery. and the Lanvin dress is really nice as well, and I like the black belt with it.

i love the pose with the Dolce & Gabanna outfit, totally shows off the body. same with the Gucci outfit. i feel that the January 2010 issues have really put a great foot forward for the new year. US  Vogue's issue has an amazing vibrant red cover with Rachel McAdams. Natasha Poly's Vogue Russia cover is stunning as well ( and will be in a future post). Same with Harper's Bazaar, with a stunning shot of Kate Hudson in a blue backdrop. Seems like this year will bring in a ton of memorable covers as the top fashion magazines have already proved. pick up yours at your local newsstands guys.

bye.
