magazine culture.

So, for the 2nd project in my Foundation II class, we have to do a 16 page spread on a specific type of culture. It can be anything, and has to be illustrated in words and images. So, I was thinking of doing my book on fashion magazines, and its history and culture. I'm going to research on the history of fashion magazines, and include that in my book. For images, I was thinking of doing very romantic still-life's of various fashion magazines layed out on my desk in different positions with natural lighting. Anyone have any ideas as to which magazines I should feature? Drop me a email! metallicmarker11@gmail.com

alber elbaz art directs / natasha poly cover

Alber Elbaz of Lanvin art directs? wow. and wow in the best way possible. this cover is damn good. the image is striking without the usual "model has to stare at you" rule, and the text fits perfectly without being cluttered or congested. and heres one of the main editorials.

amazing images. what a good idea to photograph them on the floor, to make it seem they are standing up. i'm definitely looking forward to more designers art directing! click here to view more of this issue. and Vogue Russia's January 2010 issue has a GLAMOROUS WITH A CAPITAL G image of Natasha Poly. amazing.

heres some photos of her editorial inside.

and this is not her first Vogue Russia cover. she also was on the cover of the March 2009 issue. go Natasha!

bye.
