VOGUE PARIS NOVEMBER 2013

This Vogue Paris cover is so "pretty". I put it in quotations because I HATE the word pretty, and I actually hate the color pink, but for some reason Emanuelle Alt has turned some of my greatest abhors into addictions. It's so interesting to see Gisele Bundchen in such a soft, feminine, innocent light as opposed to her super sexual, naked, Victoria Secret ready photographs. Her hair and makeup are out of this world and really emphasize the "Beaute" theme the issue is about.

EMANUELLE ALT?

SO. The big news is CARINE ROITFELD  LEAVING French Vogue. But even bigger news is how EMANUELLE ALT is succeeding her. Now I know that Emmanuelle was Carines right hand woman, but can she actually bring a new direction to the magazine? They both shared similar ideas on how women should dress, as with the rest of the French Vogue staff, so can this be interesting like Tonchi at W? Or will it be same old, same old? It's interesting because with each Vogue staff its a mix of stylists and editors that bring something different to the table. American Vogue with Coddington, Goodman and Nickerson, Italian Vogue with its slew of freelancers, and Anna Dello Russo at Vogue Nippon.

Love this cover. However, I wish Daphne's face was moved further up. Tom's placement is perfect, and reminds me of modern album art covers. I wonder if the dress shes wearing is from Tom's secret collection 0_o

editorial ORGASM: Vogue Paris 2010

Looking at Vogue Paris August 2010 gives me chills. SO MANY BEAUTIFUL SHOTS! This might as well be the september issue, because it is VERY VERY WELL DONE.

First of all..... CELEBRITIES? WTFFFF. I don't like it personally, the freeform text just doesn't work with more familiar faces. We tend to associate celebrities with normal, which at least French and Italian Vogue do not strive for, especially in the design of their covers. As I said on my twitter, it could be Carines hint to Conde Nast about what she could do at US Vogue LOL.

The Steven Klein editorial featuring Lily Donaldson is really great, you can  see he was trying to create shapes in the way Lily and the props interact.

This shot of Crystal Renn on the top is awesome. She almost looks like a pokemon LOL.

The beach editorial is UNBELIEVABLE. It has the edgy appeal of French Vogue with the commercial understandability of American Vogue.

I am in LOVE with this cover. I see how they were trying to implement the shape of the curls in her hair with the type, which I don't really like, but I love the warmness of the photograph.

Featured in Vogue Paris April 2010, I LOVE this editorial. The colors are so rich and the styling mixed with the location allows the clothes to float.

    So, for the 2nd project in my Foundation II class, we have to do a 16 page spread on a specific type of culture. It can be anything, and has to be illustrated in words and images. So, I was thinking of doing my book on fashion magazines, and its history and culture. I'm going to research on the history of fashion magazines, and include that in my book. For images, I was thinking of doing very romantic still-life's of various fashion magazines layed out on my desk in different positions with natural lighting.    LOVE the cover for French Vogues February 2010 issue

Its so glamarous, and the top really goes well with the backdrop, I can't picture any other piece there. But what's even better is the Vogue Espana cover with Kylie Minogue.

It's so vibrant and sultry, and the text once again fits nicely. The editorial featuring Chanel Iman inside is also really exciting. Shot by Michelle Ferrera the setting is so relaxed, which is perfect for the excitement Chanel brings in her poses.

I'll be sure to go and get my copy. P.S. WHEN IS CHANEL IMAN GOING TO WALK IN A RTW CHANEL SHOW? IM STILL WAITING! HAHA

hey guys, and welcome to the faindent. your gonna have a lot of fun reading this blog, as i will posting it. im currently a student at the Fashion Institute of Technology, a intern at a top fashion magazine, and a graphic design student ( at FIT). this means that ive got a lottttttt to share with you on my climb to the top. theres always intresting things going on, and hey, why not share it with the world. so lets get started.....(p.s. don't worry about punctuation, life is too short for capital letters and grammar grannies =p)

so today is my 3rd?4th? ok w.e. day at my internship. im currently a fashion intern, and its a lot of work but its definetly worth it. ive bumped into a few nice things (anyone say mcqueen armadillo shoes?) and its definetly a intreresting enviorment. some of the things these editors get as gifts are just insane.

FIT ( abbreviated Fashion Institute) is definitely an experience. it is pretty much like the fashion industry in high school form, and yes i said high school form not college. theres so much drama, its like the real world on crack. everyones skinny, smokes, and swears they are the next big thing. which works in some cases. but not when your in class -______-. its definitely a good school for connections, ive already done fashion shows for fashion week, and made some connections that can be essential for me working the shows next season. hopefully.

so yeah, im a graphic design student. so what the hell am i doing in fashion ? well i love graphics and fashion so i aspire to be an art director for a fashion magazine. i swear i have the largest VOGUE collection ever. and all i do is look at the layouts and fashion editorials. i love it. especially the art direction of paris vogue. heres actually the screensaver on my mac.

they always have amazing art direction. and i love US VOGUE 's use of red. kind of reminds me of lipstick. idk why....

well thats all for today folks. and every post, ill be updating with the latest from my fashion filled life, as well as what i notice from the fashion world.
