PERFECT PICK: SAINT LAURENT ZIPPERED TOP SWEATSHIRT

So  on Sunday I went to the Saint Laurent store in Soho (which actually caught me off guard because the signage had the YSL logo on it and put me under the impression that Saint Laurent was no more) and  after walking around the extremely minimal space with marble everywhere, I stumbled upon the mens section and THOUGHT I saw one of the first pieces Heidi Slimane did for the brand which I loved, but turned out to be a poo new season version I didn't like. Well VOILA, because of course SSENSE was reading my mind and restocked on the sweatshirt. It's so, SO simple yet utilizes the idea of a zipper in such an interesting way going across the chest, almost like a railroad track. I love it, and purchasing it will DEFINELETY be on my bucket list. BTW, don't forget to vote for me in the Mr. Porter Global Style Competition!

THE TOP 10 MENS BAGS FROM SSENSE.COM

SO.... I'm not much of a man bag kinda guy, but for some reason this season designers are putting out some of the best bags I've seen in a while... pieces that are more desirable to me than sneakers (and sneakers are a OBSESSION of mine.).I'm looking for another manbag myself since I kinda want something a little fresher than the Jack Spade bag I've carried around for almost 2 years. The menswear handbags have shapes that are more masculine and in darker, more textured leathers that don't come off as feminine, which is a plus because I (and most men) probably won't want to walk around with a Pink Birkin with heart charms falling from the clasp.Another twist is backpack styles that have prints, unique-shaped pocket and zipper placements, and more camper backpack styles (wider, more rectangular styles opposed to standard vertical shapes). Of course I'm a SSENSE fanatic, so below are the top 10 mens bags from them that I'm sure will not last for sale season.

frock.

So Julia Roberts wore Vintage YSL to the Golden Globes. Stunning piece.

She got this great dress from FROCK, a vintage designer store in NYC. They carry all types of vintage pieces, rainging fromt he 60's - 80's time period. Some of my favorites is a Chanel Blouse, and a unique Patricia Kelly catsuit, found in the seperates section of the site. Julia Roberts isn't their only fan, Halle Berry, Chloe Sevigny, and Beyonce also shop Frock.

saks fashion / style

so yesterday I decided to stop by Saks Fifth Avenue, on fifth avenue in Manhattan. as i took a walk around the 9 floor shopping area, there were a lot of very nice pieces.

Very nice Valentino shoes. i'm assuming its from F/W 09/10, correct me if i'm wrong. it was a very nice lace overlay, which i don't see in shoes very often.

This Diane Von Furstenburg dress was VERY vibrant. all of the pieces in their section had very vibrant, rich colors.

This Chanel clutch had a very nice, simple design.

Marc Jacob's dress. very unique.

a array of Chanel flats.  very popular/trendy item.

Dolce & Gabanna dresses. the fabric was VERY luxurious, and was definitely worth the price tag.

very new YSL t-shirt.

Marc by Marc Jacobs dress. the print was very detailed, and actually not tacky, which is hard to achieve when working with prints.

Chanel suit. from the looks of it i'm assuming its Paris - Shanghi? ( once again correct me if i'm wrong)
here are some photos from the window displays outside.

and of course, I found two very fashionable employees (and one very fashionable and luxurious client) so I decided to take a picture of their amazing style. they were in the YSL section.

she had on a very nice simple black suit on, very professional , yet fashionable ( men's business wear has a problem finding this middle ground)

the client ( in the middle ) had on a amazing fur coat, paired with Chanel flats with metal toes and a luxurious Louis Vuitton bag. the other employee on the right had on a beautifully colored shirt with a pretty necklace and luxurious pants.
Where do you guys want me to do a fashion story next? Bergedorf's? Barney's? Let me know where and for my next trip to the city I might be picking your department store of choice! = )
p.s. Maya ( the employee on the right of the 2nd picture) I WILL be back on monday so you better be ready! haha

bye.
