TOP THREE PIECES FROM THE ISABEL MARANT X H&M PREVIEW

So from the looks of the Isabel Marant X H&M collection photos that have surfaced, alot of the collection screams fringy, tweed like tops and sequined pieces that are great as separates, but NOT meant to be together. I'm quite surprised she didn't do a H&M version of her heeled sneakers that have brought here to the forefront recently. Seeing most of the pieces, the best ones tend to be the ultra warm, fuzzy pieces you'll need for that under 20 degree weather in New York or Russia. Either way, it'll be November when the collection releases, so be prepared to invest heavily into these three comfy creations.

H&M E-COMMERCE SHOPPING... MMMM OR HMMM?

SO... H&M really hit us with a surprise by opening up their e-commerce shopping website in the US earlier this week. I've been waiting for this moment for quite some time now ( i have no idea why but why not) and I'm excited its finally here. Now supposedly the site has already gotten mixed reviews, but I think this is gonna be a HIT for H&M.

WHAT I GOT : SOHO

So yesterday I went shopping around Soho (of course raiding the sale sections with my cheap ass) and found some good finds. The first find was this awesome black and grey striped tee from Esprit for $14.99. It was a nice thick fabric and could be perfect under a blazer or cardigan. The 2nd piece i found was at Uniqlo, which was a long sleeved v-neck tee for $12.99 a piece, and it wasn't even a sale item. I REALLY needed to stock up on long sleeves, so this was the perfect opportunity. Got me one in grey and one in black, and I'll probably be picking up some in color next week. Lastly, it was half off accessories at Topman and I found this amazing black barbed wire bracelet for $20, then half off made it $10 with tax, but the sale doesn't stop THERE, because I had my student I'D I got an extra 10% off bringing the total to $9.90. So I think I did a good job right? Spent $50.87 in total and got some quality pieces, if I wanted I could have went $30 over and got two pairs of $15 jeans at H&M.

LANVIN X H&M

So, as I stated in the previous post, I work at H&M. The Lanvin collection debuted at our store down the block, and allegedly it was SOLD OUT AT 10AM. THEY OPEND THE STORE AT 7. Crazy. Seeing some of the pieces up close, I really liked it. You can tell its not ordinary H&M dresses and accessories and there's added sophistication mixed with fun. Heres some photos from the runway show they held.

I've seen the yellow dress in person and it looks very structured and rich. The whole collection looks great alltogether, and definitely worth the buy, if you can find anymore LMAO.  Better head to eBay.

ANNOUCEMENT FROM THE FAINDENT

Hey guys, I know I've been in and out of  posting, really busy with alot, lets share.

- So I'm finally moving out of my parents house. This was a BIG decison that took the whole MONTH of November for me to arrange and finalize. I'm in the process now of packing up my stuff and moving. It's in a decent location, closer to the city, so I'm very pumped for that.

- I'm ALSO in the process of transferring schools. YEP, no more FIT. It was great while I was there,  but this year interning and experiencing fashion 1 on 1, I feel a smaller school in manhattan would be more suitable.

- Ever since I left GQ, I've been contemplating on my next move. I've been doing interviews with some people with some internship offers, as well as  other offers that mix interning and actual assistant work. HELLL YEAHHHHHHH! By the end of December, around the 1 year anniversary of the blog, I'll get back to you guys on whats next.

- I WORK AT H&M !!!!!!!! In SOHO next to Dean and Deluca. So if you ever wanna stop by, ask for Warren and I'll help you pick out some cute stuff. :D

3/16/2010

Went for a walk today, originally supposed to go get my haircut, but ended up shopping for my summer internship. I've been having a lot of problems in that department, this magazine has a stricter dress code, and probably requires a lot more active tasks ( more runs, traveling, etc.). My style is mainly just comfortable, cool, colorful pieces, and interning has totally shaped my taste into what's quicker to put on, and what's more wearable. I tend to think now, " If I get sent on a run to Peoples Revolution by foot to pick up a pair of jeans at 5:00 for a 6:00 shoot in the Financial District, what pair of shoes can I run in without having to buy running shoes." Sounds crazy, huh? Well its the truth, situations like that DO arise, and you HAVE to deliver, no tip. Anyway, bought these items.

The left is a blue/grey long sleeved shirt, the middle is a green t-shirt, and the right is a blue/white long sleeved shirt. I usually roll the sleeves up, and wear a small chain, so these are 3 nice pieces to have for the summer. Also got myself a small bag to put my stuff in. Went through Bryant Park today and it was PACKED.

I mean, EVERYONE was outside. Mostly everyone was really well dressed, relaxing. I think I'm gonna take my laptop over there on Thursday and hang out for a bit. Anyone care to join? Also stopped by the Conde Nast Building.
Miss it so much. As stressful as the internship was, it was great working for such a prestigious publishing company, especially the one you wanna eventually work for. See you soon ( June 7th at 8:00AM to be accurate).

Yup, what I wore. Sorry for the lack of artsy photography, too much homework to do. I guess with the white shirt, black jacket, beat up jeans and black boots, I was John Travolta in Grease for a day. Just missing the hair.

my outfit.

so today was a good christmas for me. i decided on what i'm wearing to my internship on Tuesday, since i finally settled down back home. im going to wear a bright red American Apparel hoodie, with black steel toe boots and velcro H&M pants. i'm going for a punk/Stephen Sprouse look. ill post pictures up tomorrow.

anyway, i did a little browse through Armani Exchanges website. now i think their stuff is just plain tack. especially with the logomania. but i found some really good pieces

very nice jacket, and very good design and placement of the pockets.

i don't know how you guys feel about this t-shirt, but i think its pretty creative.

and i love this belt, so futuristic and simplistic.

click here to shop Armani Exchange.

bye.
